Tire dilemma (205/40-17 too hard a ride)
I have 205/40-17 that are almost worn out and I am trying to figure out what to get next.
I don't like how harsh the ride is and how the tires track with the road so much. I want something with a taller sidewall. Should I try to sell these and go back to a 15" rim? I traded my 15" steelies for 17" with the 205/40-17 on them. Any suggestions to make the ride better? |
I've noticed a fair amount of people going back to 15" on their xB/xA and getting lighter wheels for the mpg & ride quality... you could of course go get some stretched steelies and rock the hellaflush look :)
What do your have for a suspension setup? |
I have stock suspension and I don't plan oN changing that

15" will always give a better ride than 17" due to the taller sidewall. You will probably notice a small MPG improvement too.

I ended up buying some 14" steelies with 185/65-14s. I love the soft ride!

General rule #1 with wheels!
Bigger the rim = harsher the ride |
