Default What Tire Size for a good Stretch Look 16x8?

Just got some 16x8 rims and I want the stretch look on them but I can't find any info.
I was thinking 205/40 (very extreme) or 205/45. Someone told 215/40 but that would seem a little to wide to get the "stretch."

Yes I know it's not suggested and possibly dangerous.....blah blah blah but it looks so tight!

Anyway thanks to any valuable feedback and extra kudos if you provide pics. Thanks!

I wish I could help, but I love your reasoning on stretching. "I know its not suggested and possibly dangerous, but it looks tight".

205/50/16. I know Flaken makes a 205/40/16 but i think that it will look too small on the car.

This is 16X8 on 205/50 16. You should be able to go 45, maybe even 40.

What about this 195/55/16

This has a nice stretch.

Also In my opinion I think its perfectly safe considering tires that are
stretched want to bend back into theyre original form rather than blow
out like some shops I've been to have said.

^^^
That's what I'd go with if I wanted stretch, maybe even a 195-50-16 if possible.

Keep in mind, if you're not slammed, I don't think the stetched look works because stretching the sidewalls brings down the overall profile of the tire even further.

Actually it's 16x8 with 205/40-16. Sickest DA I've seen in recent years. Props to the owner over at Honda-tech.

This is an inspiration but I don't think I could slam my car this low with out taking out my Kenstyle.

Thanks all for the advice....I'm most likely going to go with a 205/45. while I know 195 would be sick wit it.....that's just a little to close for comfort.

For a Scion, I would do 195/50-16. If you are slammed more than 3", then go for 195/45. The look of your stretch will also depend on the brand of tire and sidewall type.

instead of killing the sidewall and tire height kill the width that will produce a mean hipari look. 195/55/16 or 195/50

IMHO Falkens give the best stretched look. I got Federals (which came with my rims) and they have a little stretch look to them.

Not a good angle, but my front wheel is 195/50s on a 8" width rim. its with the Federal tires.

that particular model/brand tire sucks for stretching cause I can't see any hipari at all.

What's the point of stretching the tire?? Besides the look, and I bet the Police don't like that when they pull you over either,
sounds like a ticket waiting to happen, but I've seen it on a few cars (not Scions more VW's ) in my area.
