Exclamation Whoop Whoop sound when braking Scion xA 2005 HELP!

Hey guys and gals,
I have a 2005 Scion xA and when I brake, and also sometimes when I am just slowing down and I let off the gas, there is a whoop whoop sound coming from my driverside front tire. Is it the wheel bearing or could it be the brake pads?
For some reason I have two different styles of tire on the front of my car. The tread patterns are different and I thought maybe that would cause some kind of disparity between the traction of the tires?
I am super confused and need some help.

I'd check the caliper slide(s). They might be sticking.

Do a tire rotation - front to back - and see if the noise moves to the back, thus the noise is tire related
Otherwise it could be brake related.
I'm guessing it's the tire - when you have the tire on the back, jack it up and spin it to see if the tire is round or if it has any lumps in it.
Lumps are bad by the way.
