2005 Scion xB - Window issues

My driver window will not do anything. I cant roll it down. How can I determine if it is the switch or the motor?

take door panel off, attach leads of volt meter to window regulator plug, activate switch. you can also to the same by putting the leads on the contacts for the switch.
