k, so now I know what it is, what the hell does it besides maybe catch some air? does it act as a kind of front end spoiler? Been considering that just because we have front wheel drive a rear spoiler seems kind of odd..

purpose of the spliter is to push the front end down more. mine is fully adjustable so i can change the angles if need just like and adjustable rear wing. man my ride came out kinda nice in that pic. =o)

well I'm game for the right price... what kind of rate are we looking at for a piece that looks like it's difficulty comes in from it's bolt pieces versus a flat plane of carbon fiber? Or do my eyes deceive me on the complication of this piece? either way Rampage your car did come out looking good in that picture...

some are just a plain flat piece of carbon like mine. others curve up on the sides, etc. there's a bunch of different styles. they usually start around the $150 area and go up to about $400. the adjustable rods have a coupler so you can adjust length. but yeah it's a pretty simple concept.

I'll find out if the xA cf splitters will have flares or not. Personally i like the flares, they rock. I have input on them being made, so i'll see wassup from O.E. Tuning.

my only question is why? it seems more like an addition to the body kit to me for style...
is your xB really gonna reach cpeeds where that splitter is going to help traction? i mean like goin 60 or so around corners? i have driven the xB up to around 100, and its pretty damn stable. goin around corners at like 30, i would think that the those things wouldnt help much, but thas just me. i know i have seen them on drag cars, and auto rally cars, but they take turns at much higher speeds.
i guess my only question is are you putting it on for style or function?
also, catching more air = less gas milage...just a thought

it's mostly for show, man. it looks good and is something that stands out from the other cars, as long as everyone doesn't have the splitters. it's not for everyone, but i really like how it looks on elroy's car.

whether it works or not is not that important, but i will say one thing: thousands of front wheel drive hondas, DSM, etc have wings on the back of their cars, and they really need to have the downforce in the front to keep the driving wheels stuck to the ground for better traction at higher speeds. but how many of those guys have something for front downforce? hardly anyone. so it's kind of different and cool i think. better than mounting a big aluminum wing on the back of a scion, which i'm sure is bound to happen soon if it hasn't already. can't wait.

Actually, you would be surprised how much FF cars will benefit from front spoilers and splitters. But with that said, I completely agree with you that both Xa and Xb are not designed to take advantage of this thing... Remember, the key word is "cruiser" here. So... I have to agree with both Mrbadass and Eric.

oh i just wanted to add that i am not against this, but just posting the question of why?
i am jsut wondering if its for style or not b/c that is the jist of why i think ppl are doin it, and what makes sense to me.
it looks good as long as its kept moderate, just like rear spoilers. i am sure i will eventually see double and triple decker splitters too ...just wait and see. lol
