Default Fuel Lid / Door won't close

Hey Guys,

I have a 2006 RS 4.0 with a gas lid that won't stay closed. The lever seems to work normally but the gas lid trigger seems stuck in the 'in' position. It does not come out to prevent the lid from staying open. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Sebastian

look at the release lever inside the car and make sure the cable is not stuck or anything. if that dosent work give the gar door a few small taps with your palm and see if the makes the pin pop out.

Assuming the rounded end of the closing pin is still in place? Perhaps WD-40, graphite, or some variation, sprayed in the closing pin receiving hole, and some in the actuating lever cable area. Does the "open" lever inside the car, still lift up, as usual, or is it extra easy to lift, and does not spring return to its normal position.(cable broken?), If the closing pin at the gas door is still there, does it move at all?
Assuming it is not the cable that is broken, or crimped inside its jacket: Lubrication would be my suggestion.
