I have a problem
I got into an accident on SEptember 25 that ripped off my left side mirror. The next day i went to PENSKE Toyota here in Downey to order a replacement. Now it's October 13 and i still haven't received my replacement. Now i've been there several times to follow up on the order and the salesman told me that there are no replacement mirrors for the xB anywere in california and the whole united states. Basically i'm the only dood who ordered a left side mirror in the united states. (GREAT) So the salesmen told me that they had to order it from Japan, now how long will that take?

all parts must be ordered from japan unless they just happen to have them in stock. it should take no more t han 2-3 weeks. if your dealer gives you a hard time about getting the part, i recommend contacting carson scion. they will get you the part fast and ship it to you if you're not local. prices are good, too. they get stuff from japan all the time. good luck!

I have been going to Penske for at least 8 years now. I have had nothing but great experiences with them up until at least 6 months ago.
I think it may be a change is Service Management. I was really frustrated.
A few weeks ago I happened to knock the mirror off of my 2004 Solara. It was the passenger side, just the mirror. I called Penske and they told me to give them a credit card number to order the part. I was told to pay at the time I picked it up. It took 2 days and they called to tell me the part was in. I took my car in after work and explained to the Service Manager that I wanted to get my mirror installed and that the part was received today per the Parts Manager. He told me it would be about an hour to install. I strolled the lot with my 2 year old son to kill some time. About an hour later, the Service Manager calls my cell saying that the part was not in stock. I tore into him and told him to talk to the parts manager. They found the part and it took another hour and a half. I was annoyed at the whole lack of communication between the two departments. And it affected me and my hungry 2 year old.
I gave them a nast survey and now they don't stop calling me to talk about my last visit.
Those Knuckleheads!
