Question Quick Question (Front Bumper)

Sorry to be a noob, but I scraped my front bumper the other day cause i lowerd too much to get through the drivethru.... and i checked it out, the paint is roughed up a ton and i'm just wondering if its all made out of metal? if so will it rust and how do i prevent it. I havent really looked into it that much but just by the feel it seems to be made of metal. Someone help me out please

It's made out of plastic and depending on how deep the scratches are they can be wetsanded and buffed out by a good detailer, otherwise a respray at a local paint shop can fix you up. search and google will be your friend

It's just plastic. Nothing is gonna rust. Best thing to do is go lower so you can't see the bottom of the bumper anymore. Problem solved

A quick, but nowhere near perfect, fix is to sand it down and use some touch up paint. I recently did this with some scratches that came with my rear bumper. It looks a lot better, but not great to me. Other people rarely notice it has been repaired. Walmart had my exact color (black sand pearl) for $5.98. Eventually, I'll do it right. But this took all of 15 minutes and will get me by until then.

+1 I did the exact same thing. Sanded it with #300 then #800 sand paper, primed it, sprayed it with ColorMatch BPS, then top coated it with clear coat. Doesn't look "professional", but WTF? It's going to happen again anyway.

Just sayin'...

I am about to pull off the front bumper for a replacement one. Can I drive around without the front bumper or will the fenders be flapping?

It will only flap if you remove/loosen the bolts that hold the rest of said fender on the vehicle.

Well... it depends. Are you taking the entire front bumper cover off, or just the lower "body kit" part? If the former, then the inner fender "wells" will (not may) rub on the tires at anything about about 30mph from wind pressure.
