Some advice?

So... I threw an exhaust tip over the stock muffler just cuz, and I think it looks pretty good, just wondering what people think... Should I...
keep it where it is?
make it more flush to the bumper?
Let me know what you think.

I put the 3 A Racing "cyclops" tip on mine. Its similar to yours but oval. I didn't let it stick out so far ... just about flush with the real panel. I think yours looks good. Just move it back in some. My opinion.

yeah that's sticking out way too much for my taste. looks unfinished/sloppy. i think it should also be shifted towards the right side of the cutout more, towards the center.

dschnurr 06-26-2007 11:22 PM

I agree, move it in halfway and try to push it to the right side of the cutout.

Yeah, sticks out too far. At least get it even with the bumper or take it off.

Atek_Box 06-27-2007 05:39 AM

so... any ideas about how to center it up a little? I wanted to do that, but wasnt sure what the best way to go about it was... and I'm moving it back a little bit. I'm not gonna completely flush it though...
It'll look way more finished then. But if anyone knows how to get it more to center that would be good to know.

If its screwed on screw it more on one side than the other.

Atek_Box 06-27-2007 07:28 PM

Good point lol. I think taking one of those braces off on the left side would help quite a bit. Im actually on my way outside to work on it right now. When I get done I'll throw up some pics or something.

I finished it. It looks a thousand times better. Still not totally flush, but it IS centered now, which is what I wanted. Way less home-garage-rice looking. Thanks everyone. I'll put up some pics after work or something.

I read other posts that said it was just a friction fit. Hose it down with wd40 or something similar, pull and twist.

Well theres either 2 or 3 tabs, I'm pretty sure it was 2 on both sides. You pull the tabs back and well pretty much you pull and jiggle a lot. For me mine didn't come off that easy so I had to go under the car and use a flat head to go under the exhaust tip and keep bending it around the whole thing.

mrfuzzy4 06-27-2007 10:56 PM

christ.... i was hoping i didnt have to resort to that.... ALRIGHT! me and a screwdriver got a date tonight, if autozone has got that tip that is.... no need to take it off if there is nothing to replace it with and thanks!

and yeah, ill get some WD40 and/or goo gone....

cliffud 06-27-2007 11:06 PM

i'd be worried about burning my shin on it when walking by... :(

Atek_Box 07-01-2007 07:35 AM

It doesnt stick out THAT far!!! It looks like it stick ouut way farther than it does.

Atek_Box 07-01-2007 07:37 AM

and... @mrfuzzy... it's really easy to get that tip off once you work on it. took me like 15 minutes.
and some hand soap.
