Turn signal lites on door mirror kit of '06 xB?
Anyone know of a kit that would upgrade (replace or wire) my left and right door mirrors so that each would light when the turn signal was actuated? The buzzer volume for the directional is very low. The LED blinker lite in the dash could be 3x as bright. Sometimes I find myself having forgotten to turn off the blinker. For certain the next car I buy will have those lights on the mirrors—a must for us seniors.

Got the directional arrow for the driver side working nicely.
The original putty-glue that glued the glass mirror to the plastic housing inside the mirror housing was still flexible but there's not enough to reuse it. Got suggestion as to an adhesive that can be heated to remove the mirror if necessary? Thanks, Kerry '06 Scion xB I'm very pleased with the quality and price of these parts: Sold by: via Amazon. What about a decent silicone adhesive? If you ever needed to remove it you could just use the fishing line/dental floss trick...

Now I don't know how to remove the silicone from the mirror housing so that I can try another adhesive. I had soaked the housing in gasoline (which worked great) to get the original adhesive off but now that the LED assembly is securely affixed to the mirror housing its going to be tricky getting the sticky silicone completely removed so that another adhesive will stick. Going to town to get another adhesive. I sure do like the reminding flashing amber directional arrows. |
