Default *totalled* (and replaced) scion xBs

So is anyone counting xBs actually *totalled* by insurance companies? I saw another thread that discussed a few lavas that were totalled.

My thundercloud was hit (rear ended) 6 weeks ago. The insurance company took 4.5 weeks, but finally totalled it. They estimated damage would be 8-11K and the salvage value was 7.5K. They guy from the salvage yard really wanted it! he was calling twice a day :-)

I got the check last week and bought our SECOND xB 2 days ago.

My insurance agent even gets it on every car. Especially for a brand new car. The moment you drive it off the lot if you get totalled and don't have gap insuranceyou are going to have a nice lump sum you are going to owe between what insurance will pay and what's left on the loan and yeahhh...TFS will need that within 30 days.

I had my xb for about 26 hours and this girl with a Yukon ran into me at about 50mph. I walked away but the xb was totalled. My insurance considered it a total loss. It was going to be about 17k to fix. I had about 80 miles on it.

My insurrance just called and said that they would most likely claim my car as a "total loss". It didn't look that bad to me, but oh well (front end).

What should I expect? What is my best option from here as far as replacement vehicles and money?

The XB is paid off. It has 16K miles on it. Before the crash, it was flawless. Will I be able to part out anything from the car before it goes to Scion heaven?

My life feels so empty.

Gap insurrance doesn't help me. My car is paid for. Anyone familiar with total loss options?

Pictures to come. The pictures won't show the crash results well tho. The shop it was taken to started working on it before anything was authorized so a lot of the front end has been dismantled.

Looks like they're gonna cut me a check for about $14 to 15K. My insurrance appraises by market value over blue book, so that's a good thing.

My wife and I have started considering replacement vehicles. She wants an RS 1 XB..even over the Solar Yellow that's coming out. I'm considering a Matrix XRS.
We need 5 seats and good fuel economy. Maybe a Prius.
Our max price will be $16K.

Yeah, your not gonna be able to get into a new matrix xrs or any kind of current body prius for 16K. RS1 xA would definetly be a great option!
