150,000 Miles. Now What?
Hello Folks, I have not been on this forum much or posted but When I enquire about the Workbox, this is the place that I come too. So now I have a question. At 150,000 miles what are the required changes, updates, replacements that I should be doing to the 04 automatic workbox?
The miles are mostly highway miles and some stopping and going (Real Estate Appraiser). Have an Injen Intake and been doing the Royal Purple from the get go at almost every 5-6k Miles and at times a little bit longer. The only major thing that I have done is the performance service at the Toyota shop which I think was a total rip off. Have gotten some rear ends hits, which we just replace the rear bumper, plus my windshield is full of dings and cracks, it looks like I drove through Baghdad.
I have the notorious shaking when at a stop and gets worse with the a/c on. I do not think the radiator fluid has been changed and have not changed nothing else on it except the spark plugs. So, what do you guys recommend to change or update.

You should change the coolant if it hasn't been. ATF fluid and screen too? Check/replace the belts. Clean the air filter on the intake. Check/replace the PCV valve. Check/replace the spark plugs. May want to run some fuel injector cleaner through (or try a different brand of gas, different detergents, for a couple tanks) since you said it shakes at a stop. Other than that, I don't think there's anything to be done!

Ah the Shakes, I hate that, I am going to change the PCV, radiator fluid change and transmission full change. It's paid for and want to use it another 150k.
I mostly use it for Appraisal work and at times can log 300 miles in one day.
Any more Ideas of what I should change or updated?

If it still shakes when you are stopped, I would say motor mounts. To test, open the hood, start the car, leave in park and have someone look at the motor while you rev and/or place the car in reverse with the brake on and see how much the motor moves back and forth.

I dont mean to threadjack, but mine will go away if I put it in neutral. Does that mean anything.

iac, aic, aics?
Both of mine do it.
I wouldn't classify it as a "shake" as much as, perhaps, a "pulsing".
Sometimes it seems as if it's not idling fast enough, then when the a/c kicks on, it almost feels like it's going to stall, but it doesn't.
On my PT Cruiser a similar condition was fixed with a new air idle control, a solenoid that changes the idle rpm under varying loads.
Do xB's have them? I wish I was more mechanically inclined

i have engine shudder, since my 05 box is a stick i do not think i can get the shakes as it has been described. BUT...
I do have horrible wheel hop/excessive engine rocking when i am not careful when i take off from a dead stop in first gear. It could get this car to jump around like this in the snow with the traction control on and sometimes when i was uber careless with how I took off in first gear. Since I have put a stage 1 clutch in the car the wheel hop shudder shake it is so much worse. I really have to ease into first gear otherwise the vibration will happen.
I remember reading on here that the engine mounts were one of the weak link design flaw with this vehicle. Am I remembering correctly?
I jacked my car up and put it in first gear and started torquing on the tires. That alone makes my engine rock back n forth pretty easily. In an automatic I could see the rubbery mounts makeing this shudder vibration phenomena discussed above? With dude's 150K workbox?
PS Just broke 120K
