Default 2005 xB Central lock switch Inop: Locks, but won't unlock..

My 2005 xB's driver's door control panel suddenly has "issues": The central lock switch appears to be defective, as it locks all doors but won't unlock.
Key fob still performs both functions, so it doesn't appear to be an actuator issue - but more likely the switch itself.

Anyone know of a good (economical) source for a replacement switch, and perhaps a YouTube video as to how I might remove the door panel and access the switch bank to replace this one component?

Or is it better to simply purchase an aftermarket "bank" and replace the entire unit as one?

Mine xB can with custom carbon-fiber finishing on all doors and the bezel that surrounds the radio and climate controls: Is it possible to buy a replacement driver's door switch bank and swap my carbon fiber "trim"?

I found a source that offers a lifetime warranty (including all shipping costs) for the entire switch bank - for $22.50, plus shipping:

https://www.switchdoctor.net/toyota-...tch-2004-2007/

Anyone familiar with them?

Thanks for all help!

I LOVE this vehicle - THE best transport I've ever owned (and Ive had over 40, in the course of my 50 years of driving)!

Bought it used (barely) nearly eight years ago, and have adding almost 85,000 miles over those years.

At 167,000 rounds, I've just replaced front hubs/bearings and new rubber all around (Falken Sincera SN201's): Have new headlights to install (one is starting to "yellow" and has crazing or scratches), and the rear bearings.
And I've "sleeved" my exhaust twice to delay replacing the exhaust but an now at the point where I'm considering biting the bullet and replacing the entire exhaust line with a stainless steel retrofit.

I've done my front brakes (new rotors, pads, etc.), replaced one failed ignition coil (bought a set of four, anticipating others might follow), replaced plugs and wires, dropped in a new battery, replaced my fog lights with LED bulbs,
and will soon be replacing my Alpine BlueTooth head end with a Sony CarPlay alternate.

Bought my daughter a 2004 Echo RS 5-door hatchback from Canada (never sold here in the 'States) that shares most mechanical elements (and many cosmetics - line the entire Scion interior!) years ago, and she absolutely LOVES her vehicle, too:
Just started her last year in Law School and proudly still drives her RS everywhere - still turning heads (the car does, too)!

In addition, this Scion Life community has been a God-send: You guys (and gals) are great, and SO helpful and open - sharing your experience and wisdom: Thank you all, SO very much!

You may not have to remove the door panel to replace the switch, typically they come out after removing just one well hidden screw.
That site had a video - did you find it? https://form.jotform.com/82703355184962

Smile Thanks, Rich!

Switch arrived today: I'll explore that approach first (carefully), hopefully obviating the need to remove the entire door panel!

Rich;
New switch (actually, $17.99!) was almost as the video suggested (the Scion's clip was on the firewall end, not the side).
Install took all of 5 minutes, but still won't lock all doors from the armrest switch panel.
Key works, remote works, all door locks functional: Am I looking for a specific relay somewhere?

Either that or possibly a bad ground. The door control relay is inside your dash. You can probably get to it by removing the radio. Check your PMs.

EDIT: Here's some programming info, just in case your lock/unlock option was deprogrammed. (Post number 6.)

Thanks, but - unfortunately for me - those instructions appear to be the the Second Generation xB's (not First Gen 2004~2006)....
Seeking a low cost source for the Door Lock Control Relay 85980-52240, if anyone knows of one?

My bad, I misread post number 4. You want to LOCK all doors from the driver door. I PM'd how to UNLOCK all doors from the driver door.

Based on the same post from elwaylite, there are two other ways to LOCK all doors, via gear selection or "with speed".

Here's another note from elwaylite:

Also, you have to turn off whatever mode you are in, before you can turn on the new mode. This was my first mistake, and I could not get anything to change.
EDIT: Please check your PMs.
