1) go to scion.com
2) punch in your zipcode to find dealers around you
3) call each dealer to see if they have one in stock.
* you can try putting in a diff zip code - maybe a zip a few towns away from you to get a list with other dealers.

Just been through the same search. I managed to find a new one in North Dakota, but spent several hours on the phone and online tracking it down. (I was looking for a manual transmission though, so perhaps an auto may be easier to find?)
Autotrader and cars.com are good places to start, but I found that most of the vehicles on there were already sold. I was looking for both new and very low mileage vehicles from dealers, so I had a lot of listings to call. (Maybe 1 in 10 was still available).
Eventually I found mine on "vast.com", they have a quirky auto search engine that crawls through dealer pages and other online resources (including autotrader and cars.com).
Also, I think that almost all of the remaining 06's will be the Torched Penny RS4.0's, which retail for $16,000+, new.
If you are ok with one of the RS4.0s, then do a search for the following colors/keywords: "brown","copper","golden","bronze", "penny","multicolored", and "mazora". Almost every dealer describes the color as something different.

according to lastxb.com, there are now 70 left - going fast!!
I just bought an 06' auto last friday. The dealership said they had like 5 more AT only, but they had some cosmetic damage that they will fix if someone really wants to buy one
Maybe they're all out in california though
