Autocrossed my Box

Just bought it a few days ago, and wanted to get to know it better. 2006, manual, white. It's on 400 treadwear BF Goodrich all seasons.

I fully expected it to be slow and sloppy, but was very pleasantly surprised. Yes, it's a bit lacking in acceleration, but the handling was quite precise. Rather than understeering madly like I thought it would, it went where I pointed it. It transitioned crisply, and body lean was minimal. As little power as I had, I still encountered a lot of wheelspin coming out of turns, even with the traction control on. Still, I was respectably quick, and it's not due to my driving, it's due to a well designed and built little vehicle.

When I first showed up with it, a lot of people seemed to find it amusing, I got a lot of comments like, "Why are you running that?", but after I made my runs people seemed reasonably impressed. I was pretty impressed myself.

don't be fooled by it's odd shape. the thing hugs turns like a champ.

Fold down the rear seats to lower your cg and drive through the turns smoothly and keep your speed up! It can handle some fairly high g's in the turns. You know you reached the limit when it starts hopping sideways on two wheels!
