Brake Locks

Anyone have problems with brake/clutch locks? Have a AutoLockPro and just wondering if the weight of the lock is putting any unneccessary pressure on the brake since it's pulling down the steel bar part. It won't break or anything will it?

even if it is,
broken brake pedal > stolen car.

Your right. Just thinking if a wheel lock might be better but I hear it's fairly easy to cut those.

If they really want your car, they can get it but I wouldn't be worried about your xB getting stolen unless you have some extensive mods.

The brake lock is much better than a wheel lock. a steering wheel is very easy to cut .If you have a manual put it on the clutch. no clutch no start .

I remember seeing a show several years ago that said the best way to prevent your car from being stolen is to wire in a kill switch in a remote location. That way the car can't be started, even if it's hotwired, unless the switch is on. Obviously this will not protect you from the towtruck theives, but in that scenario, nothing will.

Just use the idea on that Toyota commercial. Buy a car cover and paint another car that looks like crap on it. Nobody will give it a second look.

i think that was a kia commercial actually.

the best remote switch you can do is a magnetic reed switch and a relay. you can put a magnet on your keyring, and all you have to do is pass the magnet over a spot on your dash (unmarked) and your car will start. this way, there's no switch to "look" for anywhere in the car..

Oops, sorry.

That is a great idea Tamago!
