Ok then what's that square thing behind it? Part of the lens focus mechanism?

vibrating ground glass and motor. Skipping all the complicated details of optics, i focuses the image.

u mean like what support? Depends. I've got a jib, a dolly, shoulder mount, and heavy duty pod.

so that's what those carbon fiber tubes are for I see online!
