Default Stock Air Filter Change

Didnt see any tech bulletins, unless I missed it. Any pointers? Also anyone using the Fram Air Hog? I know the K&N's are pretty good, but twice the price.

Pretty easy swap...

Unsnug the hose to make it easier for you.

There are two clips in the front of the box

Found this picture online actually...

Unclip those pull it towards you and up, pull your filter out and just place your new one in. I just got a K&N from my friend, calculated a gain in my MPG so I think it's worth it...

Just make sure to place the piece in the back correctly and clip the box back in and re-attach the hose and you're set.

Hope that helps!

My box had 32k when I purchased it and it had the OEM filter when I went to replace it....

There was a bee stuck inside it...

The Maintenance Schedule calls for inspection at 15K only under dusty conditions, and replacement at 30K. I only drive on clean roads, inspected mine at 15K, and it was too clean to change.

Not a problem!

I recommend the K&N, while it cost a little more it is washable, you can clean it and re-use it, they also carry a one million mile warranty so if you were to run into some problems you'd be taken care of.

Not only that but a 1-3mpg change would be well worth the extra dough within a few fill ups, I just saw $3.83 here-deisel was $4.09!

3.83? that sucks. I paid 3.10 here. You wouldn't believe all the pickups and suvs for sale these days aorund here. Rednecks must be feeling the pinch for driving those dinosaurs.

I also recommend the K&N too. I just cleaned mine yesterday after 30,000 or so miles.

By removing the snorkle and adding the drop in K&N I saw about 2 mpgs improvement. It adds up over time and even if you don't see improved mpgs, the money saved on buying throw away filters is enough to warrant the K&N purchase.
I'm saving my stock K&N for use when I go back to the stock intake. Right now I'm still using my YDR intake with a round K&N.
