Default Cheaper 2005s?

So anyways I'm really intent on getting a xA as soon as I get back home from college, which is next week (end of May/first of June). I want to get my xA ASAP but my mom (who is footing the bill) is telling me to wait until the new models come out or even the end of the year so that the older year's would be cheaper. She's just going off this because my dad just bought a new Cadiallac in December and got $10,000 off the sticker price. I'm trying to convince her that buying a $40,000 car in comparison to a $14,000 is not logical but she's stubborn and has it in her head that we can save at least some money.

But really I'm just wondering if it's even worth waiting. I've looked around the forums and it seems the tCs get a bare $200 incentive, and that's not even guarenteed. I can just imagine that the xAs get even less, if any at all for the price they start out on.

So can anyone tell me if they ever did get their xA below sticker price when it was coinciding with the new models, or if they saw any? Also if I do decide to wait, when are the new 2006s coming out and how long would it take for the 2005s to go down in price (again, if at all). And what BIG differences are there going tobe for the 2006 xAs besides color.

Last point, I live in LA county so would the obvious choice by Longo Toyota? Are there any special dealers around there that have nice incentives?

I'm really grasping at straws here to get my xA. I hope everything works out as planned because I am really not looking forward to driving a 97' Dodge Neon with 120,000 miles on it for the next 4 years until I graduate from grad school and get a real job. It sucks being a student. You're begging your parents half the time when I'd rather be working and making the money to buy the thing I'm begging for. If that makes any sense.

RANDOM: Does anyone have the xA paper cutout .PDF file from this topic? The site doesn't work anymore

If I don't get a real one, at least maybe one out of paper. Or I'll make a hundred of them and scatter them about my house as a sign of protest. With heavy sighs and pouty faces.

show your mom the scion website and their "pure-pricing" that means they sell the car for the value. So my guess is that they won't drop the price and if they happen to then it would be an insignificant amount. The only reasons other companies drop the price when the new models come out is because their cars are overpriced so that they can drop it.

show your mom that link and you'll be driving in no time

the xA's only depreciate, as someone said, by value. the 2005's wont "drop" when the 2006's come out, but you will see probably a $20 price difference per month off the sticker if you track it over time. At least that's what I've seen by me.....

But again, grab that rebate while you're still fresh outta school and your mom should agree you should buy now. As far as dealers having different "incentives", due to the pure-pricing of scion i wasnt able to find anyone running different incentives off the cost. However, i DID find some dealerships willing to give up free oil changes for life instead of just the typical first-year changes. The dealer I ended up buying from wasn't one of those dealerships, but when i threatened to buy from the other guys instead they hooked me up to make the sale. It'd be worth it if you can shop around and see if different dealers near you offer anything similar

xA's are getting very popular in San Francisco and other parts of California. The dealers can't keep them on the lot. People are ordering them and waiting weeks to months for theirs.

I bought mine for 14,000 in early May and my Dad checked them out in SF and said they were going for $20,000 because of the demand.

If anything the price will go up and not down for these little cars. As long as gas prices continue to climb youre going to see more of these little beasts on the road.

When supply is down and demand is high. Prices sore.

How about a used 05' with 16.5k miles on it for 10,900? I desperately need to sell mine.

Oh and no your dad didn't get 10k off his new cadillac. Its a lovely smoke and mirrors show from GM, but thats all it is. You will usually pay what they want in the long run unless you pay cash, up front, in full.
