Coming to the end of an era?

Unless something changes I am starting to dismantle the XB next week for parting out  ....going back to almost stock for sale or trade...I don't think I am going to like the XB2 or XD so it looks like a Soul or a cube.... The box has 110,000 miles and it looks like the time to move on......unless I can't bring myself to do it :nails:

ShawnBenton 05-27-2009 01:13 AM

my dad is looking into getting a soul. i really like them. they seem like really good cars. also the crash test rating on them is very good.

Sciond 05-27-2009 01:15 AM

I drove it Shawn it is nice.....the byatch of it all will be the dismantling and putting it back to stock(almost) probably will leave the audio and video and alarm system

CBSIMONSEZ 05-27-2009 01:29 AM

The Soul is nice, but i dont fit in it. I find it to have a lot less room inside then the xB1.

Good luck on the sale.

ShawnBenton 05-27-2009 01:31 AM

it does look smaller than the xb1 but it also seems beefier. and better built. i havent sat in one yet. only admired one in a wendys parking lot. i am def. going to go with my father when he checks them out.

aalbertson3 05-27-2009 02:38 AM

The Soul is kinda cool but the Cube is the only other vehicle I could see replacing my xB.

evosky 05-27-2009 02:50 AM

mannn ... it's a pity.
i'm actually thinking about the same thing within the year ... i really dont want to part with the box, but starting a new job and stuff, can't afford to keep the box if i get around to another car... let us know what happens.

bbszero 05-27-2009 02:54 AM

that sucks. I'd find a low mileage gen 1 if something happened to mine, or i'd go with the Cube over a gen 2 or XD. If you part out, i'd possibly be interested in your coilovers.

fztcar 05-27-2009 05:35 AM

dips on the part out!

Big_Bird 05-27-2009 05:38 AM

GL with the sale man. I recommend the Cube if you are looking at those.

burstaneurysm 05-27-2009 03:09 PM

I can think of a few things I want.

Jan06xB 05-27-2009 03:37 PM

it only has 110k on it - how beat can it be GOD I just turned 26k on mine! 2006xB just about 3.5 years old I usually keep driving my cars until they rust apart - good 12 years at least.

Sciond 05-27-2009 03:48 PM

it is not beat....just that I put a lot of miles on my cars (100 per day all highway) and would like a warranty... and a clean pallet????

fztcar 05-27-2009 03:49 PM

i have over 100,000 miles less on mine! lol 9,875!

MadMike550 05-27-2009 03:53 PM

110 and your moving on???

well...good luck

sabiansdrum 05-27-2009 09:47 PM

dude.. I wouldn't do it. This sounds like something you would regret down the road.. "ahh I should have never got rid of the box, I put so much time and $$ into it"

I about sold my 5.0 GT but decided I knew I would regret it, so she's under cover until her time comes around to be fine tuned.

But for something in exchange, then yeah.. a Cube over the Soul any day.

ShawnBenton 05-27-2009 09:52 PM

hey scott, my fathers friend also has an xb and he is looking into getting an exhaust and intake and maybe some other things so let me know if you decide to sell things. he will def be willing to buy them. that is if no one gets them first lol.

Sciond 05-27-2009 11:00 PM

ok Shawn when I do the part out will be massive.. I have all those things...you have seen my car it has a ton of stuff done to it

therein lies the quandary...and yeah I sold 2 5.0's one was one of the first of the 87's ever made#51 to be exact and yeah I regretted it...

evosky 05-27-2009 11:08 PM

if you have the space and $$ for insurance to spare ... then keep it. if not, it's hard to let go, but it's just gotta be done ...
