Countdown (Or Up) In Earnest Begins
The count-up to 300,000 begins for real today. I crossed the 290,000 mile mark in Camoritaville today

haha beat me to that question! that's awesome though. by the way what year is yours? i thought i did a lot of driving. commuting to work, and doing my side business at nights, and weekends i used to do 50k miles a year. about 36 on the truck, and the other on either my then wife's vehicle or my old corolla. not driving as much anymore though. still probably doing 35k though. business isn't so good. that's a lot though! i guess if that's an 04, and assuming it was purchased right when they were made in 03 that's like 36k miles every year for 8 straight!

My 05 went into service in April of O5. You could say its just a tad over 6 years old. When I bought the xB it was my intent to put 300,000 miles on it. At 247,000 I drove it 6-7 miles without the serpentine belt (no water circulation). It got extremely HOT to say the least. But I replaced the belt, changed the oil, and topped of the coolant - it uses a little oil now. Whew.
I drive just a tad under 1000 miles per week for work and pleasure. But in the summer I will use my Buick Reatta some.
Anyway, I've done the brakes all the way around twice. Rear shocks once. A/C condenser once (stone damage).
It was wrecked to the tune of $3800.00 damage in Jan 06 - never even had an allignment done.
It still gets 37+ mpg, in good weather, if I stay off the highway. Drops a few in the winter and when driving 65+.
If I reach the 300,000, I will then take it mile by mile. Engine or tranny work will almost certainly have me parking it. Anything else will probably be fixed.

just wanna let you know man you are seriously lucky! you're blessed. last, and only vehicle i had with 290k miles i couldn't go 1500-2000 miles without something breaking! i had 296k miles on my 97 f-350 when i sold it three years ago, and got my 2000 f-350. that truck costed $30k brand new too! back in 97! for a $14k car your thing is amazing!
i been meaning to ask you the next time you bumped this. how is your transmission shifting? it is automatic right? smooth shifts still? nothing wrong with mine i just never drove a vehicle with 297k on the transmission! i actually never driven anything with 297k miles! my old f-350 with 296k was the most!
