Default Excessive Compulsive

Sorry ahead of time for the long post. I've been putting this plan together for about a month. I got 3 jobs so I'll have about a grand to put into to the car every month. Still that'll take me over a year to do everything I want. Please check it out and give your honest opinion. I'll answer the obvious one, "WHY WOULD YOU SPEND THAT MUCH MONEY ON A SCION?" This won't just be my car, it is an extension of myself... AND I'M WORTH A LOT!

Sounds good to me. If you plan on those eyelids, don't forget you'll need to add the older JDM bB lights to your list since they won't work with the xB or the newer bB lights.

I think most of it sounds okay. The only things that I would like to see you leave off are the spoiler, helix tails, scorpion decal, and the street glow shifter. Everything else sounds groovy to me. You may want to check with someone about the JDM fogs though, I think I read somewhere that they require some alterations or something :? Just ask around and also I think that if you are going JL with the components and subs you should go with JL amps also. Just my thoughts. Good luck!

Helix tails are a maybe

What are some other tail light options? You failed to offer an alternative

I thought they would match the rims and I hate the stock pair

In regards to the tails, I am actually diggin' the stockers but if you don't like them you can always paint them or have smoked. Now are these the tails you are talking about getting? https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...llights#324756 IMO these suck! And the ones with the black housing look just as bad. They look like traffic lights. Anyway, I am just offering my opinion. I am not trying to be negative, just constructive. Good luck on all your mods.

Your plans are good, but I voted absolutely insane. Working three jobs to buy depreciating parts for a depreciating car is crazy. Don't get me wrong, I love modding and my car is a huge extension of myself, but you'll be working so much that you won't get to enjoy it. And trust me, there will always be a nicer car than yours out there. You can't beat everyone....especially large sponsoring companies.

Not to mention, that Greddy turbo kit has not been tested much and will likely require some tuning etc. with mild gains and questionable reliability. If you're stretched paying for these items you're gonna be screwed when they require work...

There are many already running xBs with similar mods, with a huge head start over you. That list won't get you published...

Sorry.

I appreciate all your posts everybody

The first four words of your post seem to contradict the rest of your post Mr. WagenMaster but I will accept what I think was your actual opinion with a little humilty. I think you are probably right about the publishing which is why I added "I hope." That is just a dream and a very common one among us I think. I quote JFK, "We do this not because it is easy but because it is hard." I think that forced induction would be a great mod for this car. Plus brakes... I forgot to mention brakes. I am now thinking a pair of red tail lights would look superb.

Which forced induction system gives the highest gains while having acceptable reliablity?

Do not get those rims!

Your spending that much on other things and your going half ___ on rims.

You managed to pick out the second thing I wasn't sure about. Before, I was thinking the Axis Maglites were pretty tight... that's still not good enough for you probably. What is a high quality brand may I ask?

Maglites

I guess it did contradict. What I meant is that would be a sweet looking xB with those listed mods.

Dyamnn! Hope and Dreams boy, Hope and Dreams. Anyway, their was one little thing I think you missed or I may have overlooked, but you're gonna need a S-AFC or eManage Fuel management which tacks on another $300 to your price tag. You're gonna need this, because the originaly Greddy kit was made for JDM bB and their high octane gas. The official US release hasn't come out yet, and nobody's sure if they will come out. Also I don't know if you noticed but the Greddy turbo kit from HopUp Racing includes the Greddy intercooler. It'll be cheaper to buy it that way rather than buy them seperately, especially from 2 different places. Just trying to save you $$$ :D

Speaking of which, what is your true intent of modifying this car? The reason I ask is because, if you total everything up, I think you'll have some fat pockets there that would allow you to expand your choices in car selection. I'm not saying the xB is a bad car, my wife loves it, and I love it too. But honestly if I were thinking of putting that much money into a car, I'd probably start think about getting a different car instead.

But I guess, if you are really set on spending that much, then you might want to add Fuzzy Dice to your list. hahaha J/K man, it's a good list.

Thanks, you are all very cool

Alright here's some different wheels to look at

-TSW Heaven 7 <- me likes
http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse....ShowLarge=True
-Tezzen Wheels Flexin
http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse....ShowLarge=True

So let me get this straight. The GReddy system is not well liked by most on this forum. Forgive me for my ignorance but I thought lack of testing didn't necessarily mean that the product isn't reliable. Still, it is probably best avoided. Are there any American turbo/superchager systems available that don't require a new fuel management system?

COME ON PEOPLE! I need ideas for forced induction systems and/or anything else I am not aware of. I've heard modern turbos don't have any noticable lag. I guess I could do a search but this post is going to be a handy resource for me in the future.

I would rather have a modded expensive car over a stock expensive car. I think fuel economy and four doors with plenty of room is all I could ask for. Plus, most of the locals here seem to get confused and disgusted when I mention the box; too much peace makes people weak. I am a definate advocate of chaos!

"Excessive Compulsive"

No. (because that's just a typo)

"Obsessive Compulisive"

Maybe.

I'd say you're more obsessive than anything but anyone into cars of hobbies wants more more more.

I think you should do a few thing to the car and save the rest of your money. If your goal is to be in a magazine or a show winner, you need to bring more to the table other than "what rimz and turbo should I get"? You don't seem to have any idea as to how things will work together or if they will, you just want parts on the car just to have them from what I gather. Most of the parts you listed are the same things many other people have so if you want a nice XB, you'll have that but it wont be anything mind blowing in comparison.

Actually, I was trying to be funny. My girlfriend tells me I really shouldn't try because it's just sad. She likes how critical some of you're being; she is definately on your side. I understand what you mean by it being just a list. It's true that I don't have any idea how these parts will work together. You are sort of funny and very right. BUT who says I would stop at this list. I really love the xB and I'm planning on driving it until my kids start complaining of embarrassment (I'm a couple years away from even being married.) My plan is to get that list finished before I have to settle down. Then I can take my time and do some really cool custom work myself over a longer period. In the end I hope that it looks like something totally unlike an xB. I get what you're saying though.

Could I please get a little CONSTRUCTIVE (not DESTRUCTIVE) ideas that might be above and beyond what's mentioned above. Something cool that someone would do if they had the time/money?
