I'm a firm believer in never living anywhere that you may have to shovel three feet of *partly cloudy*

and we have 2 seasons Summer and December....

So there's fictional Joe xB Owner, living in the ice encrusted north (by his own choice). He also stubbornly resists buying a remote start kit, just on the principle of things. So, to avoid the horror of driving a few blocks in a chilly car, he goes through the following routine:

1. Pull on coat, hat and gloves
2. Make sure you have two sets of keys
3. Walk out into the cold
4. Fish keys out of pocket and unlock the car
5. Get in a cold car
6. Start it
7. Get out of the car and into the cold
8. Lock car with extra key
9. Go back in the house
10. Remove coat, hat and gloves
11. Kill time in some useful or enjoyable way
12. Put coat, hat and gloves back on
13. Walk back out into the cold
14. Unlock car
15. Get into toasty car
16. Drive away

Notice how to avoid the cold, Joe xB Owner goes out into the cold three times: (1) house to car, (2) car to house, (3) house to car again.

That's what I like about my T-Bird. It has those buttons that Ford likes to put on your driver's side door. You can leave it running and lock and unlock it from a keypad. (Just hope no one steals your combination.)

Old Punk, that was funny as hell

And yes, I'm too cheap to buy a remote start...too many mods, not enough money left.

It's even worse than that - it's not about warming it up in the AM, they want to go thru all this so they can run into the store for a few minutes. ... Don't want the temp to dip and have to wait for it to start blowing hottest again...

Thanks guys, for making me appreciate Cali. I had to turn my heater on this morning too, but I had the window down by the end of the commute...
