It's true....all of our xA's in the last shipment had the complimentary 6 disc changer installed...it even says "complimentary 6 disc changer" right on the window sticker. I'd heard rumors they were going to do this to push xA sales before the 2005 models come out...I guess they are.
Pretty sweet deal, but those who already have xA's shouldn't feel shafted.

I have this in my xA.
I honestly haven't used it or the radio much. All my music is on my iPod and I haven't figured out how to hardwire it to this system.
And, 7 years of no radio in my car kind of made me "zen" about quiet drives.

Toyota decided there were too many xAs still unsold at the ports so they installed them for free on all new incoming units. The dealers are not charged for these. The thing that kills us is that we don't get any credits for the cars we already have on the lot.
Some dealers, like mine, have decided to suck it up and pay for the 6 disc in those as well. Its just to help us move existing inventory.

this reminds me of that story in the bible with the land owner. he hired people in the morning promising them a fair days wage. at noon he hired more people promising them a fair pay for their work. in the afternoon he hired more people and promised them a fair pay for their work. At the end of the day he paid them all the same. the workers complained that they worked more than the other, but they got paid the same. Then the owner said something like, I paid you a fair days pay, If I choose to give them more than that is my business.

I know this is an old thread, but a few weeks ago when I was in the process of test driving xA`s, the automatic one that i was driving came with the free 6 disc player. HOWEVER, I drive manual and it didn`t come with it. I was like wtf. But then I remember when I had my 10 disc for my old car, I was too lazy to change my CDs. So maybe a one disc deal will suit me better.
They coulda at least threw in some free illuminating cup holders since I don`t get the 6 disc.........!

We got it with our xA, we demanded it, you should too, got back to the dealer and talk to the Sales Manager about it, they'll either give it to you OR explain why they can't , then go talk to the GM. If you complain enuff, you end up getting it.

Hell, some of the new 05 xAs have the 6 changer.
The dealer is probably stuck with a manual without a changer and is probably trying to stick you with it (or a dealer in your area).
Just tell them you want it.
If anything, you can rip the 6 out if you are not happy with it, sell it on eBay, then take the cash and buy something else.
