Default Hella Horns

Has anyone installed these mini trumpet horns on an xB?
Do they fit easily? Do they sound better?
Thanks:

"Sound Better"?

That's really subjective. That's like asking is blue better
then red?

I don't know about the Hella horns but I think almost anything is better than stock. I put Fiamm Highway Blasters on mine and just love them. They are loud and now my box sounds like a highway boat.

Do you already have the high note? I'm just asking because there are two horns on the XB and it sounds funny with a beeper and a real horn.

You must not have heard the right horns. Mine sounds like a large car, maybe a Ford Crown Victoria sound or something similar. It's a really big loud sound.

Nope. I've removed the stock wimpy-___ horn and am just putting in the low tone. I'm going for a loud-as-hell deep sound. We'll see how it goes.

My alarm also has its own 130dB horn, they will both go off when it's triggered

Ya know, I just realized that I've never hit the horn when I
test drove the 4 or 5 boxes over the past few days.
Something tells me I may want to add that to my upgrade
list! LOL

For a while I was gonna get the Coga (www.cogapa.com), but I wanted my horn to operate off of the steering wheel in those times of emergency, and not off of a handheld unit...

I used the Fiamm Freeway Blasters in the past. Get a high and low tone horn, for about $25. Unhook the stock horn, mount the new horns, splice into the stock horn wire, and you're done. Just remember to point the trumpets down so nothing gets caught in them. Being black plastic, they won't rust, and can be hidden very well. Adds a nice LOUD horn to the car. I've used them on cars and motorcycles I've owned in the past. Probably one of the best low dollar upgrades one can make to a vehicle.

Thanks for the input. I ordered the Hella mini trumpets and I'll let you know how they sound and if there are any installation problems. I have a set of Fiamm horns on my motorcycle and they sound great - high and low pitches combined. Hope the Hellas sound similar.

I'll be going with 4 horns. I already installed Hellas, and they're better, but I'm going to add two other tones so I get a really shrill blast. I'll mount them above the radiator.

I took off the bumper cover today, removed the stock horns, and added the 2 Hella mini trumpets. I put one in the stock location in front of the radiator and mounted the other next to it on an empty hole on the same cross member. I just ran a wire from the stock lower horn connector and connected the stock wire from the old radiator horn to the other new Hella. I then made a siamesed ground wire from both horns to a nearby crossmember bolt. Sounds like a big truck instead of some sneezing butterfly collector. I'll work on posting some pictures. While the bumper cover was off - added some serious bling: made some brackets and bolted on the 3 piece T-rex billet grilles. Shiiiiiiny!
