honda jazz vs xb

I love how everyone knocks Honda stuff without discretion. None of you have even seen or driven one of these things. How do you know it isn't a lot better than the xA? I'd be willing to be it has a real independent rear suspension instead of stupid torsion beams, for one.

I drove one when I was in Thailand. . . and both cars are retardedly slow, and in terms of mods, it just takes too much money when there are plenty of other, better options. These cars are cheap and fun, and that's what they are for. . . it's that sig I see often, "racing a Honda (or any severely underpowered car (stock) is like the special olympics; even if you win, you're still retarded). Strap a rocket booster onto a 1 legged man, and he'll be fast. Same with econo cars. It's not Honda people have a problem with, it's the "honda-rice" mentality. Secondly, a lot people knock Honda because of other reasons, ie styling, reliability, price, theft rates, etc. . . and a lot of that is subjective.

I hear you and I agree. Though the "honda-rice" mentality doesn't seem to be limited to Honda's judging by some of the rides I've seen posted here. Scions seem to attract ricers at least as much as Civics.

point taken about the ricers.....BUT scions M-O is mods.....why would the delerships carry all those mods for? Honda on the other hand does not have those things in the delership. Now trying to get an extra 100hp on a 108hp engine is a special ed move. Whatever i get done to the box wont be for performence enhancements. Just to make my box stand out a little.

Honda's are great. Don't be a dumbass.
Brand loyalty is for idiots. Blindly knocking Honda because of what riceboys do to them is the height of stupidity--- especially when Scionlife is chock full of ricers with silly appearance mods.

The bottom line is I'm just happy more people are creating vehicles in the US in the niche. Anything to move us away from everyone coveting SUVs.
I like the Fit, but I really wish they were bringing us the FRV. Looks like a little Mercedes or BMW and has one of the most practical setaing designs I've ever seen.
The middle seats both moves backwards and forwards creating extra seating or space. .

I'm not blindly knocking a brand, I'm making a generalization. Some prior comments were made about how a Scion will never be as fast as a Honda, and Honda's aren't fast. It takes a LOT of money to come close to matching very cheap domestics. I was making a point that this market is more about show then go, and if that is the case, then the availability of turbo's and superchargers is a moot point. I'm talking about business here; sales. The majority of honda's sold are never modified. The majority of modified Honda's never get better than a 14 second 1/4 mile (which is slow, considering you can get sub 13 second runs in a used Camaro, stock).
In the Jazz/Ist/BB/Civic/Echo/Corolla market. . . performance is really on the back burner. If you're talking about an Intergra/RSX/Celica or even EVO/Sti market, then performance matters.
Anyone with a business brain would know that a Jazz having more mod potential will increase sales just as much as a giant ***** on the hood. Rice racing is a VERY niche market, limited to people who can afford it, and still want a cheap car to throw tons of money into. This market is all about individualism and uniqueness (taking the cars out of the typical economy-car-cookie-cutter mold). This is Scions business direction and target market. This is hardly a blind characterization of a brand/nor brand loyalty. It's a business analysis.
