So far, I've seen one driving around locally - and read that there are others who were able to bring them up to Canada. That said, I know it's possible.

Question is: How is it done, what is the process?

Can I order one new from a dealership in the US and just get a transport trucking company to deliver it, or am I forced to buy a used one that a local dealership has brought in from who-knows-where?

I appreciate any info on this, I'm really interested in getting one of these especially with the insane prices at the pump. I did a search, but no one outlined how they went about it.

I know it's not available in Canada. Even if I did drive south to buy one, would I be able to legally bring it back across the border? I think there is more to it than that...

In vancouver you have to call ahead 3 days to the boarder people and let them check and run the vin number to make sure all recalls etc are done and the vin# is clean.
I would never buy one of those "used" scion's in vancouver because most of them are ex dealer demo's so they have the crap beat out of them.
