How to test Mass Air Flow Sensor

Does anyone know how to test the Mass Air Flow Sensor to see if it is working correctly. I had it cleaned by a master mechanic using MAF cleaner and I am not getting the gas mileage that i used to prior to the cleaning. Any info will be appreciated.

hmmmm.i really dont think there is a way to test it...either it works or it does'nt, as far as gas milage it could be other things other then the MAF

You need the service manual for your ride cause the MAF specs are in there. There is a way to check the specs out! :icon_headphones:

yeah, i am pretty sure the MAF is an all or nothing kinda deal. if it is broken you will throw a ton of lights and have that 3000RPM limiter. Yeah, gas mileage might be something else. (weight, tire pressure, weather, etc)

Sprayed on a clean cloth then clean MAF...or sprayed into MAF? Heard you should not spray directly into MAF.

disconnect battery and let the computer reset its parameters. a clean maf can throw off the computer.
