thanks bkb.

lol - the AMG version of my car would have been like over $900 a month or more actually - that's WITH my trade-in plus another 4 grand for a down payment. that's insane. for taht price, i'd rather lease a used bentley or gallardo :D

even the 4matic version of the E350 would have raised the price over $200 extra per month. so it would have been $8k for my box + $4,000 down and the payments would have come out to almost $900 a month.... CHILLL WITH THAT! that's wayyyy to much for me. l0l

Those were lower than I would hope to get for my 2006 a few less miles.

LOL - nice post jct!

i broke 2000 miles in my car tonight - it's been about 3 months since i've had her. since it's broken in now, im still sorta getting used to the power... i am so used to trying to pass cars in the box that with this thing, it's effortless. :D

in other news, i saw an xb gen 2 at a red light today and thought about it... i didnt like the gen 2's when they first came out and thought the style would grow on me but it hasnt... i simply cannot accept that as the new xb! lol.

anyway, things are good with the benzy. i hope everyone is still having fun with their boxes... i have seen some around and i feel like walking up to them and hugging them....

I agree, any day of the week!

Have fun with the new car payments

I still say, dollar for dollar depending upon what $ bracket your in, this is what I recommend( this list excludes Trucks, by all means if you need a truck then find one that fits your needs, but SUV's are a joke).

* $15-25K : 1. Toyota, 2. Honda, 3. Mini-Cooper
* $30-60K : 1. BMW's(3 or 5 series, M3, etc)
* $65K+: well, if you can afford this upper echelon, go for a Porsche (911, C4, etc.)

I stopped seriously caring about the status of what kind of car someone drives about 10 years ago. Accidents happen, gasoline costs $$, and really its all about the A-to-B trip. Efficency.. Efficency!!! (and you don't need to drive a hybrid to currently be efficent!!)

update - I HATE THE BENZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i hit a small pothole yesterday at 20-25mph and got two flats at the same time!!!! passenger side front and rear!!!!! on top of that, there is a huge dent in the rear rim... im sooo pi$$ed it's not even funny!

thank god i signed up for the wheel protection package. now i have to call them and ask how much this is going to set me back.... =/

Like 5 minutes after I got the flats and called a flatbed tow truck, A GEN 1 XB DRIVES BY ME LIKE IT WAS MOCKING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was sooooo mad... i honestly would take the box back any day instead of the benz.... but i still have like 37 months left now on the lease.... =(

just wanted to vent. the box was a way more fun than this car... it's not worth paying nearly a grand a month for a decked out benz when you have to drive like a granny to avoid potholes........

i regret getting the benz if it hasn't been made clear yet by this post. lol

I got a Tacoma X-Runner. its probably the same length as your Benz. Its a truck so its definitely NYC tough. I'm going to try it out in the city on my next trip up there in maybe April. I'm missing my xB too. I really am...

So the car is at my place. I called Mercedes Benz roadside assistanc and they said sorry, we don't cover towing - only if you run out of gas or lock your keys in your car... so I'm going to be paying $200 for towing it to the dealer...

Update on the wheel protection package - apparently, from what the guy said on the phone, it covers things like air leaks and he said he'd have to see my dented wheel/tires to give me an estimate... im so freaking pi$$ed right now... im paying $25 extra for month for a wheel/tire warranty that doesnt cover me for ****!!!!!!!!!!

he gave me the prices of new z-rated tires - $430 for the rear and $350 for the front and he said the damage to my wheel may not be covered.... then wtf is the wheel and tire warranty for?!?!?!!!!?!?

yesterdays tow to my house was $125. towing it to the dealer a week from today (bc i dont have the time) is going to be another $200. add to it the tires and that's already over a grand not including the rim repair/replacement.... im easily going to be over the $1500 mark...... and my bday is coming up too... there goes my party $................ =(

im getting another scion once the lease on this piece of crap is over. i've had issues with the tires losing air very quickly (like filling up air every couple of weeks and watching it leak out which im going to mention when i go to the dealer), the ipod hookup sucks and doesnt play some of my media, the switches are a little odd - sometimes pressing up opens the windows, etc. this car is such a piece of crap it's not even funny. i traded in my box AND put in another $4,000 to bring my monthly payments to about $600 / month to get more problems? i feel like i got duped bigtime.....

i really, absolutely hate mercedes right now.

I have AAA, always a free tow when ya need it...

sounds like your dream car turned into a nightmare on you. with the economy being as it is...this probably isnt the best time to take on more debt

I'm glad my box is payed for
cheap to drive, and so far trouble free
thanks for sharing your story...I hope it has a happy ending for you

Word. Instead of paying $200 for a tow, pay $100 for AAA for a year.

Also, it sounds like you're driving in NYC? Wheel, tire, and bumper damage are pretty much common. My cuz bent a rim hitting a construction bump on the van wyck. My mom's car has only 1 hubcap left, from them flying off over bumps. Worst was the one time I saw a pothole eat a dude on a 250 Ninja on the belt. Might have been cheaper to ditch all 4 wheels in the river and... you know.
