Just paint the Home Depot plastic plug with touch up paint from the dealer for color match. Looks good, easy to do, cheap too.

Here in Massachusetts we drive forward most of the time. I've found not much rain hits the rear window this way.

Can't say I've ever been blind out the rear window, even in heavy snow, freezing rain, or downpours.

Every day is a car show when you drive an xB - at least round here people still gawk. If the rear wiper is how you keep your ride clean, what are you doing here?

Here in Wisconsin, road salt and dirt will acumulate on that back glass. Using the back wiper with some fluid is useful, Although not absolutely neccesary. And it doesn't do the greatest job unless you soak it with fluid.

In fact you'll notice thta back of our boxes is what gets the most dirty because that's where the airflow deposits dirt

^ I have the same problem... the rear wiper is really terrible at cleaning anything. It's fine in a heavy rain when the car is clean, but if the back window is dirty, or it's not raining that hard, it just streaks.

Mine's coming off shortly... I can pull into a gas station if I can't see...

Yeah, have you ever been behind an xB in cold weather? The vapor stream forms an eddy at the back like I've never seen in a vehicle. The air just sits there.

I find my rear wipers handy at times. I don't think I would ever take it off.

So what do you do if you can't see behind you?
Please tell me you are kidding? The rear wiper on the xB is completely useless. I've never had a problem seeing out the window mostly cause the glass is vertical and gravity forces the water to run off.
I'm still pi$$ed that they put the hole in my rear hatch! They could have just added wipers for those that don't mind having a scratch sweep on their window. Not to mention how fugly it makes the rear end.

I've had my box for 26 months, I never once turned on the rear wiper. Once I got my stereo installed, the rear wiper was just another part that rattled... so I ditched it.

As for seeing out the back... side mirrors. I very rarely use my interior rear view mirror anyway.

I'd pull the fuse so she doesn't scratch up the rear glass.

I wonder if the rear wiper is required by law on wagons and hatchbacks, as they all seem to have them.

If not required, Scion missed a big chance for a hot mod. Scion could have omitted the rear motor, pump and blade and knocked $50 off the MSRP. Then many people would have been clamoring for the missing rear wiper, and Scion could have sold a lot of wiper kits for $300 plus installation.
