Default ist parts wish they had in the USA

My vote for the parts I'd like to see from the ist sold in the USA:

http://toyota.jp/ist/dop/function/index.html

1) Sharp Plasmacluster combo-overhead lightswitch + air cleaner. Very effective at killing germs that cause colds and flu, and it does help those with allergies a lot. I like it simply to keep the air clean.

2) Backup and Forward!! distance sensors with beep. I've seen cars with backup sensors, but never with ones in front! Help to squeeze into those super-small spaces that few other cars can fit into.

http://toyota.jp/ist/dop/interior/other.html

3) OEM bin + arm rest
4) Tip open storage compartment to replace the totally useless and un-used cig tray+lighter.

http://toyota.jp/ist/dop/exterior/other.html

5) Metal/chrome rear bumper step protector. Looks way cooler than the sticker applique they've got here for the xA.

http://toyota.jp/ist/dynamism/body/index.html

6) Standard privacy tinted glass in the rear.

Some of the parts that you mention, are available to the link below. I don't work for them. I just thought that I mention.

We can get all of those in Singapore...for a price but I think it is slighty cheaper than in the U.S.

Its funny that the ist comes without the ciga lighter tray n many of us had to add a make ____ one between the front cup holders. Some of us imported the original ciga tray like the ones u had n replaced em!!I could get u a swap if anyone r interested..

ooh! You're right - lots of parts, including the ash-tray replacement bin! I'm gonna have to start saving up for some shopping! =) =) Clear Japanese rear tail-lights look good, too!

Despite recent stupidity here, Americans are a resiliant and inteligent people as a whole, and nothing drives us more than a desire to posess that which we are told we can not have escecialy if it is cool and diffrent.

We need to put pressure on Toyota to let us have access to the parts we desire for our cars. There is no reason why we shouldn't be able to get at least the interior parts that do not fall under DOT regs.

As for the parts that do fall under DOT regs, I think Luke Cambel's manager put it best when he said "People will crawl over broken glass to get that which the government says thay can not have"
