speaking of mpg, I used to get around 31-32 mpg and recently I started to hypermile and my personal new record is 38.4 mpg
as an engine breaks in, it's mileage gets slightly better, sorta like a Diesel. they don't get thier true mileage until they hit over 50,000 miles. gas engines are normaly within the first 5,000miles but can take longer or less time.

at the moment i'm sitting at 15,800 miles

things i've done:

-regular oil changes every 3,000-3,500 miles
-recently changed from Toyota OEM filter replacement to Nappa filter made by Wiks who make all the oil filters normaly used for Nascar and uses all metal internals which means junk goes in and it doesn't go out until the Toyota OEM filter which has a carboard filter liner. i noticed some slight throttle diffrence after installing this, it's slightly smoother. screened the oil and went from finding small engine break in chunks from the Toyota OEM to the cleanest oil screening ever with the Nappa Wiks filter. *part number 1394*.
-Air filter has be whiter then my cleanest white dress shirts i have but will soon replace it with a K&N.
-going to be changing out the tranny fuild and clutch at either 20,000 or 25,000mile, i've been harsh on it within the time of owning it so i want to make sure there are no shavings and i'm going to replace the clutch with a stage 1 because i feel there's just a bit too much slip on the stock OEM clutch.

havn't done a mileage check yet. i know that if i top off at the 76 gas station in the northern Tacoma area on pearl street and then go south, hit the freeway and go out the Shelton and them come back. i use about a third of a tank of gas to do that and thats about a 125 mile trip for me so i'm going to guess about 32mpg and thats with considerable uphill climb on almost half of the freeway travel both ways doing 63-65mph with spirited moments.

Maybe, not the Highest Mileage, but I drive 40,000 miles a year
Because of my wide extensive travel use as a Company Vehicle.
Mine is 16 months old and currently have 52,000 miles on it.

Hey, everyone knows that 1stGEN xBs last forever.

True Story: I 'm still on my Original OEM Goodyear tires
with still some thread left. 40k miles a year and still waiting for
tires to wear out!

'04 XB with 112K on it.

The windshield needs to be replaced because of all the rocks that have hit it. One hit the bottom between the wiper blades and over the summer a huge crack formed because of it.

Also, the drivers side rear window won't work any more. None of the controls will operate it.

Other than those two things the car is running great and I plan to keep it for many more miles

Yeah, windshields a biatch. I replaced mine at about 120,000 with 2 long cracks on the driver side windshield. Before that, I had repaired the windshield about 3 times and finally bought a new one.

Was it me or did you say you go through a tank of gas a day?!?!

None the less, congrats on your mileage! Good to hear it's been trouble free as well.

He'd almost have to to cover those kind of miles.

Yes 1 tank a day.

Funny enough I bought it as a temporary solution and planned on getting rid of it by 120 to 150,000 miles but soon after buying it got addicted like so many others and know I can't see myself parting with it any time soon.

How do you go through a tank a day? Commuting? Long distant courier?
I go through 1 tank in 2 weeks. During summer 1 tank a month.

1 tank is only 300 miles. I can cover 300 miles in like 4.5 hrs. No mystery. He must do deliveries or something like that.
