Default need to tow my xb home

Looks like I finally got my xb thru a private party. I need to pick it up and would like to rent auto transporter and tow it home. Uhaul says no to transporter or auto dolly to scion, ground clearance issues? Anyone towed their scions? Maybe a one way bus ticket.

how far is it from where you live? with gas prices it might be better to fly their and drive it home or take bus or something.

320 miles roundtrip, I rented a car trailer from uhaul 7 years ago for about $150 for a 400 mile haul. I will be hauling with my trusty old '97 Dodge Dakota V-8, 4x4 which will soon be for sale. I hope this deal goes thru, I'll brag about it latter if it happens.

If its a front wheel dolly and ground clearence is an issue the rear skirt and front skirt just unbolt(side skirts should be the same but i am not 100% on that.) Same with the axle back muffler. Should be able to take them both off in just a few minutes with hand tools in a parking lot. That should be enought to tow it I'd think. If its a full car hauler trailer, you can try building up a ramp by stacking a couple 2x4s, if the ramp is too steep for the car.

The reason uhaul doesn't ok it for use on their equipment is half liability and half ground clearance. I tried it in the past and was told the same thing. I think the dolly will work fine as long as the springs are stock. You might want to remove the front and rear skirts first. When they transport them on the auto transports they don't have the skirts installed yet. U-haul figures the average person won't want to remove them first. Just tell them you are using it for a different type of car. Or try to find someone that has a dolly you might be able to use, or try a smaller rental place other than u-haul. Good luck!
