Default Opening up the box!

135xxx mi in and my poor 1.5 is in pain. Poped the valve cover and to my horror i found this: [IMG][/IMG]

This is a direct result of poor maint on my part, strict diet of random jiffy oil changes, and overall neglect. So now im gonna make it right. I wanna pull the engine and start fresh. Gonna replace what needs replacing & clean what needs cleaning.

Any input on getting engine out of bay is greatly appreciated. This car and engine has been very good to me. I wanna make it right again. This will be an engine rebuild thread.. lets go!

at least remove the grille and upper radiator tie bar. take out the radiator and fans. don't move that engine until at least those are out.....

if you have access to a lift dropping the engine from the bottom is a lot easier
