I am back in the market for an XB and not sure what to do.
I love the first "box" style and I think the new XB's are cool.

I was just wondering if you didn't have a first gen,
what would you get now?

I have both, but prefer the 1st gen. It may not be as quick, but it has its own "style" that just can't be mistaken for anything else.

I vote gen1 my dad has a gen2 and I just like myn so much more.

If the situation I was in June of 05 was now instead of then, the new xB wouldn't even be on my radar. I'd probably buy a Fit. I don't consider the new xB to be a viable candidate for a daily commuter in a deep urban environment; too big, too heavy, too thirsty, to difficult to see out of.

If it was next year I'd probably be waiting to see if the Cube would do the job.

I voted, but remember, you are running the "pole" in the 1st gen forum. Post it in the Gen 2, and you will see different answers. I will keep my 1st gen.
