Default Rear headrest replacements

Hey there. First post here. I got my XA a month ago and love it . My previous car was my dear and beloved CRX., to my mind the greatest pocket rocket ever(so fun to blow away cars that cost far more!!) but the need of a rear seat finally became an issue. The XA is a joy to drive however, and with its 5 speed, quite zippy 0-60 under 10 for me, not up to the CRX, but still quick enough, and it handles great!

My question is I want to replace the rear headrests with a lower profile version, like the center rear rest. Unless someone is back there, I just keep them in the wheel well. Does anyone make a low profile replacement that I can leave in , but will keep from intruding my view??

The tC rear headrests fit perfectly, match the fabric and of course are low profile

be ready to spend $$$ for OEM headrests. . .
You might try junk yards. . . I believe that any Toyota headrest SHOULD fit. . . maybe the black headrests from a Corolla S would work? Might be able to find those junked. . . they are slightly smaller, but not as small as the center headrest. BTW, that center headrest is painful for long trips; just try sitting in that seat for 20 minutes. So if the other seats have the same headrest then. . .

I got used to those things in my rear view, and they don't really block much vision. This car is so small, what is blocked is covered in the side-rear view mirrors.

Try headrests from a Corolla S. . . they are black, but of a different material.

I have had my XA for almost a year now. I do not even notice the headrests anymore. They did annoy me when I first go my XA. If you ever have anyone in the back seat you should keep the headrests. They are an important safey devise for back seat passengers. My kids ride in the back all the time and I would never dream of removing the headrests. A slight inconvenience for the safety of the backseat passengers.

So, you would say that the xA is a worthy replacement for the CRX?

I loved the CRX and have been looking for a replacement without driving a 10 year old car. If only the xA had another 20-30hp.

I've been looking at the tC, but maybe I need to get serious about the xA.

I agree 100%. They are there for a reason.

Yeah, read florencescion's post. There are apparently stock headrests that are a lot smaller. I'd suggest finding out from your dealer if they are available.

They are available, unfortunately they are over $300 each from a dealership. I'd wait for a few to show up at salvage yards to grab a pair for $50.
