Removable Mud Flaps for xB?

Dont kill me for asking about mud flaps, but let me explain. Its for the good of my xB.

Around here, in the winter, they still use a sand/salt mixture on the road. Alot of states have switched to spray to get rid of the ice. Well, that sand/salt sucks pretty bad your wheels kick up a decent chunk of it.

To help prevent this, I was considering slappin on some mudflaps just for the snow season. Any ideas on what kinds would work? Is this something I could just pick up at my local Autozone? Will any drilling or alteration to the car be required for this?

I know it'll look kinda nasty, but it'll only be for the winter.. I want to eliminate as much risk as possible from kicking up stuff. I'm looking at getting snow tires and I know that salt/sand will get stuck in them more easily.

Unless you have wheel spacers, the tires are completely inside the wheelwell. The best thing you could do is add some clear 3M stuff to the part of the skirt and rear bumper that the stuff would hit. Plus to add mud flaps you would have to drill holes. thats a big no no

You may be able to add some double sided tape to the flap to make it stay on thier. but as said before- the wheels are sunken in the car- so unless your road dept puts huge rock down- I wouldnt worry about it. around here they put down a sand thats not too harsh ( at least I hope)
