Hi peeps. I have a 2004 scion or a "toaster" as we refer to it as...I've had it for almost 2 years....bought it for a grand (because of high miles) (supposedly has like 230 000 on it)...but still up until recently runs like a champ...fast fwd to yesterday....I was taking my awesome wife to the store when all of a sudden it started spitting and sputtering then I noticed the radio power shut off and all gauges came on the all of a sudden it went back to driving normal...I took it to church last night...ran fine....today took it for a little test ride acted up again...same thing going on....checked to see if it threw a code with my scanner...nada....HELP...ANYONE HAVE ANY CLUES‽ IM STUMPED and don't wanna start buying part to throw in for process of elimination....thank you all
God bless

Could be battery or charging system. Good idea on not guessing and replacing perfectly-working parts with brand-new perfectly working parts. Because nothing will change. You'll want to do some diagnoses and troubleshooting to positively identify the problem 1st.

Do the following:

1. measure battery's voltage with everything OFF
2. measure battery voltage during cranking.

These numbers will be important clue on narrowing down area to look at next.
