Default Seat covers and suspension? I bought it yesterday.

I just bought my xa yesterday, and I need to cover the seats with something, I couldn't bear to spill something on them. Are they some kind of standard toyota thing? If I go to wal mart, does anyone know which ones would do? I've seen black cotton scion custom covers, but I'm a little wary of non-stretch material, afraid they'd bunch.

Also, I live in New Orleans and anyone who's driven here knows how bad the roads are. I'd like a smoother ride, but will aftermarket parts void my warranty? Are the dealership shocks worth it?

I'm very clueless, I know, I've never owned a nice car before. Thanks for your help.

Watch ebay. There is someone advertising full front and back seatcovers tailored to xA and xB seats. Costs about $45 as I recall. A charcoal color and backed by foam. I think I will pop for a set the next time I see the listing in ebay. Just type in Scion xA in search and then search through about six pages of listings.

For the smooth ride im not sure about this but a lot of the xB guys say going with after market springs seems to make the ride smoother go figure that one out. So you might want to look into some springs & if you cant lower it to much maybe look into just a small drop, not even 1". Other then that keep the stock 15" wheel put a 195/65R15 tire on there & get some light weight wheels (That wheel reduce unsprung weight making the suspension better at taking the bumps) and thats about all I can think of. Some one was thinking of putting the Echo suspension parts onto I think it was a xB. So if that works out might want to look into doing that.

Absualy that's right. If you put aftermarket springs it would make your ride smoother. I put some Goldlines on mine and it made a world of a difference compared to the ruff stock ride. What I meant by smoother is that you feel the bumps and openings on the road a lot less but, your car would feel more stiff and the handling outstanding.

Thanks for the advice, do you know if that would void my warranty? Also what price range should I be looking at? I'm sure I can get a deal on labor but parts are probably cheaper on line, right?

I recall some law that say if they cant prove the part you have installed caused something to break (Thats normaly covered under warranty) then they have to replace it under warranty. So I dont think springs would cause any problems. The springs im looking at are Tanabe NF210's. They give a 1.3" Front drop & a 1.0 Rear drop. Im not sure what the ride would be like seeing I dont even have a xA yet . Im looking at getting them from here: http://www.optionwagon.com/store/pro...products_id=88 so $160 + S&H if there is any then Install price unless you install them your self.

The seat covers you refrenced are not the ones I had seen last week. The seat covers I saw last week were not washable. They were of a velour type fabric. Could not find a listing last night.

I like the seat covers that I found because they: greatly extend the amount of interior storage space, are washable, very durable, fit well , look sporty and are inexpensive.

I bought them at Bi-Mart but have seen them in other stores, including K-Mart. They cost about $20 each. They seem to be a heavy guage Nylon with zippered mesh pockets. There's a large compartment on the back that holds my map books. All together, there's about 7 pockets per seat.

I don't remember the brand of the seat covers and instead of going to the store to find out, I just searched the web and found the same style. The price can vary so shop around.

http://www.buytruckstuff.com/product...=51&p_gpID=169

With mine, I removed the headrests before putting the seat covers on. Then I used a soldering iron to melt a couple of small holes so that the headrests could be put back onn.
