Default Swapping Single CD for 6 CD

Greetings,

How difficult is it to swap a 6CD for a singe CD radio in an XB? My new xB came with a singe and my wife does not use the 6 CD changer in the xA.

Thanks,
Dave

pop the center dash off, unscrew the cd player, un hook it. do the same to the other car then, plug it in, screw it in, and put the dash back on., should take no more that 30 min

It's very easy. I can't find the exact topic to replace the head unit. But you can check this postt.

No security code. I bought my 6-disc head unit from another member here. It was a brand. It's easy as Plug and Play.

Would appreciate a few more details on how to get the center dash off. Last thing I want to hear when pulling is SNAP! and then see small plastic parts flying around the interior!

Thanks,
Dave

pull the ac ***** off and there are 2 screws, one behind the right and one behind the left, unscrew them and then push down on the top(right above the cd player) and pull out at the same time. its a little nerve reacking, just push down and pull. and if it doesn't come off your now pulling hard enough

It's easy to take the dash off the xB, it only takes me about a minute now that I'm used to it.

Just pull the ***** off, undo the 2 screws, grasp the console firmly by the A/C ducts, and pull straight out. You'll get about 2 inches of play before you have to unplug the 3 wire harnesses.
