Default TAG armrest feedback for xB

hey folks,

i read the parts review and did a search on the Tag armrest but only found a handful of feedbacks. some seem to love it and others think its cheap, flimsy and unsturdy.

the boomerang seems to be the overwhelming favorite here but i like the ipod compartment and the way it looks.

anyway, i appreciate any feedback you guys can offer.

peace,
goooch

I like the stock Scion one. Matches perfectly and doesn't look like something you'd find in your grandfather's car.

Just put the OEM one in and I like it. It seems small but it is proportional to the rest of the interior. I had mine covered in leather to match my seats.

the boomerang is nice and i think i've only read a couple of complaints and hundreds of praises.

but i still favor the "looks" of the tag so far but it seems like no one is buying it. not a good sign.

well, if i don't hear any positive feedback in a week or so... probably gonna go with the boomerang.

thanks again for the feedback!

No consideration for the Zeta?

It's a great armrest, probably the strongest on the market. And, it looks awesome installed.:D

Just remember, you get what you pay for.

I have the Boomerang with leather top in my xA and the Scion OEM rest in my xB. They are both really nice. That TAG rest worries me because it mounts with a heavy duty velcro. I don't think that would be stable at all.

I had the TAG armrest and I never used the velcro. It fits very snugly and the base goes all the way around the console. You can actually just place it inside the rear cupholder and it is very stable. I thought it looked pretty OEM... the only reason I got it was for storage. If you want to keep the cupholder, then the OEM one is better.

I think the new Zeta looks good too. Maybe I'll buy another xB...

So you just had it sitting in there and it was solid? That's surprising.

oh, don't get me wrong, the zeta is nice. what i should have said is that i'm cheap. $79 for tag, $99 for boomerang and i think it was $169 for the zeta. the tag has a dedicated ipod holder which kills 2 birds for me.

thanks again for the help folks! and thank matt for the tag feedback!

I just looked at all of them and i just have to say this. is it really that hard to make one with oem looking cloth? cuz leather , plastic , rubber and painted mdf dont match very well in my eyes.

The Scion OEM rest is covered with the same cloth as the seats. It's a dead match. The optional leather top for the Boomerang rest matches really well too.

Picked up MyXB yesterday and installed the Boomerang I bought for $99 off Ebay just now!! Took about 10 minutes!!! Very easy install. Just had to be patient when screwing it in, hard to find the damn hole!! I must be gettign old!!!! But it looks very good, nice height, I'm very pleased. 2 thumbs up.
