Default Thinking about getting a Scion Xb, Need a little help.

Hi everyone my name is Travis.
I'm new to Scion Life, 18 living in Houston. I am seriously thinking about getting an xb and have read many of the posts on this forum about them. I want something thats visually apealing, check. Has a good warranty, check. Good gas milage, check. Warranty ect. I dont need to list it all off because you all know. I comute to my local college as well as work daily. I need something reliable and "hip" and i think I have found it. I was wondering if i installed say an AEM cold air and cat back or full exhaust to my xb when I got it would it increase gasmieage? If so how much. Also, if I get the xb I would want to get rims probably 18's would i loose gas mileage with these? If so about how much. I would apreciate your input and thankyou in advance. Thanks for letting me be a part of your Scion Family.

Thanks for all your help in advance.

if you dont like cleaning the xB, get the TCM because it doesnt show much dirt on it. other than that, go with black...

I have PW personally because I love white but out of those two it has to be TCM. I have two friends...one with TCM and the other with BSP...BSP washes, waxes, cleans all the time...the TCM maybe once every three months....somehow the TCM always looks cleaner (including mine). Also the paint jobs on these cars suck so everything will show up on the black...just a warning...

An intake and exhaust will help your mileage, but they also have the side effect of putting more lead in your foot, so often that mileage increase is lost because you'll be running it a little harder.

18" wheels should kill your mileage, but that will vary depending on weight. Look for lightweight wheels if you must go bigger.

I have a TCM and keep it really clean, but it never, ever looks dirty. Black looks clean for the first couple minutes after it is cleaned. Black also shows swirl marks and water spots easily. On the other hand, TCM is super common. Had I known how common it would become when I bought it, I would have gotten something else.

Im still getting 30-34 MPG with my 18" TRD wheels,

If you use 215/35/R18 tires, your speedo will be correct and def. no loss in power......

Ii have a black xB and all I have to say is please get a TCM the black car shows EVERYTHING. I have washed my car and could see dust on it within a couple hours. So if someone would of informed me of the black paint being a pain to keep clean I would of went with TCM. So consider yourself warned.

Thanks for all of your help. The black looks so nice but I really dont feal like washing my car several times a week. I supose when I put my car on order I will order tcm. As for Whells im about to search for a wheel post, trying to possibly order my wheels and drop before I recieve my car so the first week i get my car it can be under the wrecking ball..

So until then i will be waiting with my piece of crap.. (its a lemon and the power steering went out yesterday so that adds another thing on the list of things to do..)

Thanks for all your help again!
