I was driving a friend home and see this Corolla-S drivin next to me...pacing me...so i sped up a bit (it was a 50 zone and we were both doin 50) and he sped up...and i sped up some more...and he did too...and finally i just gunned it and he was too but I pulled ahead (up to around 80 now) and then he chickened out when a car was waiting in a driveway...SCREECH! his tires burned a hell of a lotta rubber on that road..it made me laugh. Corolla playin chicken w/me and the scion won...who woulda thought. Anyways, now my friend cant say my cars no good anymore. My car's totally stock btw, i have no idea what was in his. but i won so its all good.

 

Corollas aren't faster than us. I've raced my cousin's auto 03 LE and win most of the time from stop and from roll. A Corolla S is just a normal Corolla with ground effects and a plastic S badge.

Though if you're talking about the XRS that's a totally different story altogether

 

I don't even really care what it was...first time I ever really raced this thing...it felt good

 

Watch out when racing. I just had a guy try n block me in and wanna fight because i beat him. Winning isnt worth wondering if your cars gunna get vandalized when you go to bed, trust me

 

life is good. life is good... I like these stories. I grew up in the Drag Racing world, spent all my childhood with race cars and drag strips owned by the family, spent most of my teenage years the same way until my father passed away and the family moved away to other businesses, but there is nothing like these stories to make you remember... good job winning there, that is all it takes... a good heart. But remember be careful Now go out there and burn some rubber!!!

I find it hard to believe that you can race a stock xA....when I'm out driving mine, rpms go all the way up to 3.5k just to accelerate to 25

besides..the speedo only goes up to 120

 

I honestly didn't think these little buggers could do 100. Suprised me, thats for sure.

 

prolly not racing in the sense that your thinkin cackle...it was more like...stoplight+glare=floor it and whoever gets to the next light wins (cuz he wanted to get in my lane)... we took it up to 80 before he got scared and slowed down

 

Since installed my CAI my car is accting racey I know its only 3-6hp but hey first shif be4=10-18mph on 3.5rpm now 14-20mph 2nd:20-28 ......if i do full like let say 5-6rpm in 3rd i am already at 45-50mph ......hard to belive huh? .......got to cam my speedo.

 

I've hit about 117 in my 5spd

 

im in an auto...haven't had a place to just let it go yet...maybe in the next few weeks...

 

yeah thats exactly waht i got mine up to on a trip i took. i stopped cuz i didnt have a radar detector. but it was pretty sweet.

 

I've buried the needle a couple of times.!

 

Yeah. . . after about 105, it starts to litterally crawl faster.
