Hi , are you talking about the " Hard " cover that is UP by the Windows or the
" JDM hard lifted Floor " ?
Im not sure about the Hard Tanneau cover , if you see the ends of it ( By the back windows ) you will see that the " Wings " that go over the wheel wells , Do Not move . The one thing I have liked most about a " soft " cover is that it protects and hides whats inside , yet , Im able to lift up the wings and flip them back . There are Speakers on the Wall there . And flipping it back makes me feel like Im letting a clearer , unobstructid SOUND from those back speakers .
As for the Raised Floor of the JDM TOYOTA , Im not sure if it would just plop down and be done with . But I can see that some would like a " raised " floor , while I for now like the LOW FLOOR .

i might have a 31" long amp and i need a place to put it out of site

Even with the flaps up , Its impossible to see whats under it . It is So close to the window and the floor is Low , and its dark . So I would be supprised if someone from the outside could see through into the back .

i'm also not into showing off stuff at anytime and need my storage. i prefer not to put things on top of the amp. I'm only interested in it because its a trade and 6channel.. i'm fine with it as long as i can find a secure place and out of site. i appreciate your replies btw

Hey Jeff,
just so you know, that hard package tray is the upper part by the windows...

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...a/PICT1362.jpg

the lower one is the JDM version of a spare tire carrier...not sold here

Lip 08-08-2005 01:34 PM

ok..i guess carson scion just gave a wrong discription of it.

actually...looking at the strut towers and the plastic panel on the sides...its different then the USDM panels so the JDM spare tire carrier wouldn't fit properly unless you changed out the side panels for the jdm's

I had been leaving the rear seats down to allow the back speakers' sound to travel out of the rear compartment. Agree that the cargo area is kinda hidden enough and low that it is hard to see into it. Flipping the cover less hassle than flipping seats up when u need them! :P

the description is correct...the hard cover keeps whatever you put under it out of view...

the title of the part is wrong...'hard package tray'

either way, unless you ditch your current spare tire tray, that other tray would not be of any help to you...

If you do this, please post pix and details! I was wondering if I could mount mine underneath like pickup trucks have, then you just turn a crank to drop the donut.
