Transmission Poll: Manual vs Automatic

Stop and Go over the bridge
If I'd not be stuck in traffic I'd have gotten the stick. HOWEVER ... I got the thing for a COWmuter MOObile. Long trips in stop and go are NOT fun with a stick. Yah a stick is more fun to drive any place else but stop and go ... which is why I got the auto.
P. S. I cowdn't vote (got some kinda error) ... so add 1 to the automagic for me please.

Dig the Cow puns! you better lay low though with all that MADCOW stuff goin on in the news ...Personally I have a stick... I think thats the only way to go! Test drove the auto and really wasnt too impressed... got my XB manual without even test driving a stick version.

Auto
I got the Auto and I will challenge EVERY one of you stick drivers to beat me into the City. If the Auto seemed gutless, you just weren't pushing the gas pedal hard enough. The reason I got the Auto was because of the way it is laid out with each gear separate. You don't HAVE to leave it on D. First turn off the O/D, 321. When I want to down-shift I do, when I want to hold the revs up I can. And I never get clutch foot. Try sitting in your car and just push your clutch in and hold it for 1 minute, let it out for 20 seconds, push in for 30 seconds, let it out for 10 seconds. Now hold it down for 90 seconds. REPEAT for a 10 to 20 minute period. That will simulate the Tollgate backup at the Bay Bridge. Tell me how the sole of your foot feels. Feel that pedal callous? Not on my left foot.

this poll is for xA and xB owners only. if you have a new civic or something, that's great, but please don't vote because it will just screw up the poll. thanks.
this poll will run for 30 days. maybe in a year i will do another one to compare the difference.

To all the people _____ing about traffic w/ a manual transmission, I work in DC and I deal with bumper-to-bumper everyday. The extra exercise my lower left leg gets is definitely worth not dealing with the hassles of an automatic. Once you learn how to drive a manual, you will rarely think about the extra efforts when stuck in traffic. It becomes natural. I'll never buy another automatic again, whether the car is a racer or grocery getter.

I think its a hassle to be doing clutch-gas-brake motions repetitively while watching out for the fools around you stopping and tailgating all the time and cutting in.
Its alot easier to worry about two pedals and mostly just one-the gas- if you do it right. It gets old, day in and day out driving in hour and a half bumper to bumper traffic.
Half the reason I want a new car is to get an automatic.

SUP PLAYAS THIS IS MONEY
OF COURSE I GOT A MANUAL TRANS. I DONT SEE WHY THEY EVEN MAKE AUTOMATICS. NO OFFENSE BUT I HAVE ALWAYS PREFERED A MANUAL OVER AN AUTO. IN FACT I HAVE NOT YET OWNED AN AUTOMATIC.
