Automatic or Manual?

I put 10,000 or les just because i wouldn't pay more than 10 for one. But given that a dealer near me offered 5,000 for my 2005 with 125,000 miles.

I also put $10k or less, but am aware that dealers in my area are asking $12-14K for xBs with similar mileage.

whats it worth to you?

Interesting. See plenty with a ton more miles selling for far higher. Please keep giving your opinions.

Emotionally, love the car but emotional value in a marketplace means nothing.

Well, in my area an xB with around 70k+ miles goes for $8k private party or non-Toyota used lot. The low mileage will help you, as will it being an automatic because it's a wider market. The accessories have limited to no extra value when you go to sell, it's actually better to strip and part them out if you can put the original stuff back on, wheels would probably be the only thing worth doing though.

Start at 10 and work your way down, don't sell for less than 8.5. try Craigslist, eBay, and Scionlife when you put it up for sale before checking dealer trade-in. Kelly Blue Book lists private party value (your sell price) in excellent condition at $10,080, $9,480 for good.

i put 12,5 only because i seen them go for alot at dealer lots ive seen 50-80,k miles go from 15-18k...but your all stock low miles with auto id take no less than 9k..i remember when i was looking for the 2000 civic si with the b16, used was going for more than when it was new..we are lucky our gen1 are holding its value

Dealer will always be more than private party sale. Remember it costs them money to buy it and hold it on the lot, and with the higher price they can also offer financing. There's also the perception that dealer used will be more reliable / in better shape. I just don't see someone paying over 10k when the seller will want full payment up front. Still, that's under 25% depreciation on a car that's 5 years old, and for an economy car that's phenominal.

What he said. I paid $8500 for my '06 RS3.0 with 37k miles Dealers were asking $12-14k for plain xBs with similar mileage. Of course, they'll only give you about $8-9k for the same car unless they're folding in profits from the sale price of the car you want to buy.

i bought my second one a few months back, it had 18,500 miles on it, bone stock, not even fog lights and 5 speed. paid right at 9,000 for it.
