What is your Gen1 xB gas mileage?
I was just wondering other Gen1 xB owners have for their gas mileage. i have a 2005 PW xB with just about 70k miles on it. major mods put in it are 18 wheels 205/35/18s, K&N CAI, Tanabe exhaust and DF210 lowering springs.
just getting about 26 to the gallon now? i still remember getting 31 out of it.
anyone has the same gas mileage like me?

I get 26MPG when I do ALL city driving. I can get up to 36MPG on freeways traveling at 62 MPH. Here are my stats: http://www.fuelly.com/driver/ajcadoo/xb
My mods are in the signature.
Here are all Scion xB's on Fuelly.com: http://www.fuelly.com/car/scion/xb

34-35mpg with mixed driving. Everything stock except for tien lowing springs.
Most important thing to raise mpg is nice gradual acceleration from dead stops and keeping rpm's at or under 3000. If you have a manual, try taking it out of gear and gliding to stop lights, etc.

i don't know mine is weird. occasionally I'll get really high, and sometimes only 33. commuting to work almost 60 miles one way with 75% highway maybe 80% i'm usually averaging around 34. my commute is almost completely highway actually, but it's not interstate. the highway up to my house has some lights that you hit. i've gotten over 39 once over 7.5 gallons approximately. i got an automatic by the way.

Just my 2 cents, the MFG Dealer Sticker on the xB I believe had a EPA rating of 31 mpg. City + 35 mpg Highway and was done with same standard testing each time + is also an estimate to gauge by.
We are all educated people + know that having a properly tuned car, properly inflated tires or over sizes tires + total car cargo weight + your car driving habits your MPG can change a bit. We are not doing strict testing/measurments + can only take a good guess-stimate on the MPG that we are getting + not also 100% acurrate.
When we fill up our gas tank, I don't think that anybody is Physically measuring exactly how much gas is in car: measuring the excess gas filled up to the gas filler hole before + after a refill at the pump. And we know Cars can hold more than the gas tank capacity and the gas station pump hoses can click off even if the car is not fill. So putting in 10.3 gals of gas in your car doesn't mean you used 10.3 gals of gas. "We are all just taking a educated guess, which is good to know that wer'e in the ball park of our gas consumpsion + not an exact science.
Peace out.

The original EPA sticker fuel economy estimates for the 1G xBs were 30 city/33 highway/31 combined, downgraded in '08 to a more realistic 26 city/30 highway/28 combined, with minor variations for transmissions and years.
Here's a video showing how to get 60 mpg within 10 miles from a cold engine start with an xB1. Basically, I'm up to 30 mpg within a mile, and 40 mpg in 2 miles.
How to get 60 mpg in a ten mile drive.

Thanks for the input guys. I was just curious because when I was still in NJ, I used to see around 31 mpg. Then before I installed the modifications in my car, I started to see my gas mileage diminish. Ever since I did the modifications, I understand that I will lose some gas mileage but didn't expect 5 mpg loss. It just shocked me. I am going to try driving slower this time to see how much mpg gain i get. Thanks again guys.

Now you're a believer? I can get 55-60 mpg on the same drive pulsing & gliding between 25 and 40 mph, and up to 95 mpg P&G in competition mode. On the return from making the video, I averaged 65.1 mpg for 10.4 miles, but I've averaged 70+ mpg in warmer weather.

I had no idea there was such a hobby/competition. I thought the original post pertained to real world, daily driving type activity. Congrats on what you've obtained so far. And good luck getting to the 100 mark.

My lifetime average mpg is 49.2 measured at the pump, and it's all real world miles (I've never entered a hypermiling competition). Those miles include a 7300 mile cross-country trip where I averaged >44 mpg, and trips to Utah, New Mexico, and SoCal. More to the point, they include auarter mile runs, grocery shopping, Dr. appts, and trips to the dog groomer. In short, I've averaged 49.2 mpg over every mile I've driven in my xB, ~28,000 miles in all.
