Default Would you buy this salvaged xB?

Surfing e-Bay, I found this salvaged xB for auction: item number 4565624006. Doing a little research, I found that the car was sold previously on e-bay in an un-repaired state to the current owner in auction 4548576492.

It appears to me that the present owner, who presumably made the repairs, has taken some liberties with the description on the extent of repairs performed.

Would you buy this car?

Disclaimer:
I have no association with this car and have no interest in it in any way other than a passing curiosity.

Ummm...you didn't provide a link or enough info on the car. I would not buy a salvage title unless they were practacly giving it away. There are many drawbacks to a salvaged vehicle.

Just go to e-bay and search on the item number I provided.

Yeah, I did that. Here ya go:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4565624006
Like I said, I wouldn't buy a salvage job unless it was discounted HUGE.
You get no warranty, it will be harder to insure, and the resale value will be in the dumper. Just my opinion.

Looks like it got hit in the left rear as well. Considering the seller is being so shady, I'd run.

Well, I think I wouldnt buy it unless I could check it out in person. The damage wasnt too much if you look at it from the standpoint of someone who fixes cars. The core support was toasted but it did look repairable. I would just be worried about that whole salvage title business.......

Well... He's not trying to note that it's a salvage car, and his buy it now price is $12k.

Run... that's way too much for a salvage vehicle. I just feel sorry for the high bidder.

Who's gonna message the bidders with the other item number?

You could find some here in California for 9500-10000. At least for a 5spd.

I sent a message to the current highbidder. Ebay can warn me if they want.

I'm lost. What are you guys warning other bidders about? It says it's a Salvage Title and he talks about it being a repaired wreck.

Good work. Let us know if you get a response, either from eBay or the bidder.

The seller completely misrepresents the amount of damage done to the vehicle, which anyone could see by looking at the previous auction. He doesn't mention the damage to the rear and. I just hate to see someone get a lemon and blame the quality on anyone but the guy who repaired the wreck and ripped the buyer off.

OOoooooh.....I see. You'll have to excuse me. It's been a very long day. Yes, if he is misrepresenting how badly it was damaged, then he should be strung up by his thumbs and beat with a tire iron.

yeah. alot more than just a front fender. lol core support , front rear bumpers , lights , hatch, ac condenser , rad , intake. no wonder it was a total. surprisingly the airbags did not deploy.
