This is all great info, Thanks, as I have a gravel(lg) driveway and was concerned. I haven't gotten the new RS4 yet, but concerned. Does anyone have a opinion on clear bars on the
XB's??

The biggest mistake I have ever made ever in my life was not getting a clear bra. Everyone who has one seems to love it.

THansenite 09-21-2006 05:14 PM

I wish I would have had a clear bra put on when I bought my car.

yep, wish i had as well.

like i said, first mod = clear bra
second mod = pave driveway

:P

no problems in my gravel driveway whatsoever BUT when I was rolling 18s on my s10 with REALLY low profile tires I got a chips in the rims here and there.

I LOVE the rally pic of the xB that is the shiz!

SO: bottom line is GET A Clear Bra!! I'm just worried as far
as the RS4 has the shifting paint, I heard it is quite expensive, and looking at the front of my Tundra, I sh/have got the BRA....
So, Thanks guys, I'll get a BRA!! hehehehe

Yup, a clear bra may seem to cost too much, but the difference between an xB nose covered with pits and chips ("road acne") and one covered with a thin, shiny, urethane film can make a big difference in a few years.

This link takes you to a couple of pics of Vanilla (my xB) showing her wearing her clear bra after 19 months on the road.

There are NO chips on the covered area. (The heavy plastic cover over the license plate has been replaced due to pits and cracks, so I know the front gets hit.)

Think about it!

Man it depends on what you want your xb for! if you want to pimp it out I don't recomend you to buy it if you don't have paviment. too much dust on the paint wil eventually scratch as you wash it. the holes will be a hell if you have any around your place, mud, and grable. I mean your car will never be clean, jejeje it sucks but that's how it is. I live in Puerto Rico, and our streets are all ____ed up, I have to be dodging hole all day man, and we have that dust from the Sahara desert, so If im having trouble here, and is not so bad, imagine you. but hey man, if you want it for dirt like that purple one, then be my guest cause you'll have fun. still for rally Id buy that new suzuky sx4, is an all wheel drive 140 hp, and for the price youd get an xb for. so really man, think about it... Peace

I'm very impressed with ALL the comments. I too have 200 feet of gravel driveway with xero problems. Just go slow and keep it (the driveway) as flat as possible. No spinning the front tires. It causes deep holes in the surface that need to be raked over.

how much does it cost to pave a driveway? wouldn't that improve the value of your home?

Thank you again, I brought my new red salsa pearl xB home today, drove out of the dealer's lot with 6 miles on it.... SO far so good, even if the paint gets chipped up, it is a greeat ride and a great first new car for me... at the age of 33. here's hoping the driveway doesn't do too much damage....

I had a dirt driveway for 4 years man. What a pain in the @ss! When it would rain, dirt would splatter on the side skirts and wheels. After winter, when spring would hit and the ground started to thaw... man, it was like a huge mud fest. I saved up my loot and finally paved my drive way about 6 weeks ago. My car stays cleaner longer and I don't have to drive to my parents house to wash the box!

My gravel is now grass covered. Never gets muddy or washes downhill. I mostly hate trying to walk on it with my house slippers on. Those rocks hurt when the hit the wrong spot on your foot
