xB Rear Seat removal
Apologize in advance if I missed it, searched the FAq'S and used the power search
How do I remoe the rear seat in mu 2005 xB? I started to pry off the actual seats to get what I presumed were the front bolts, but decided to ask first.

the bottom cushion pops out without any bolts...The backs are bolted in at the bases to the floor and to the sides through the plastic trim. Not very difficult to remove..Took me probably 15 minutes or so...
I have an xA, but it _should_ be the same. There are two fasteners in the front. You need to get a big flat head screwdriver, stick it in the hole, push down, twist, then pull up. Make sure you look at the fastener to figure out how it works. There is also a loop in the rear. You need to pull it back and upward to unfasten it from the hook. I'll try to do a tutorial on it later today... I hope this helps out a little, though.
er..hope I didn't just double post...
thanks all
No fasteners e.g. the xA that I can see and mine doesn't seem to want to 'just lift right out."
When I tried to pulll off the bottom cushion I heard a tearing sound. Ipresumed this was just foam glue overspray but decided to ask you gurus first if there were any hidden clips along the bottom.
So..I get that I just pull the cushion off..from the front? And reach underneath and detach it from the loop? And to remove the side bolts I have to remove the moulding pieces on either side that also cover the latches, yes?
I appreciate the patience.

I didn't think of mentioning this but...it seems that the car is as easy to take apart as it is to put back together. Doesn't seem to be any special tricks, so worst case scenario is that you take a few extra bolts out...they will go back in just fine. I'm not usually one to advocate taking too many things off to get something done, but I wouldn't worry about it either.
btw, I suggest removing the bolts, then go around to the middle of the seat(in the back cargo area) and use like a hex wrench or something that will give you some leverage and actually pull back on the latch(goes over the hook) to pull seat even farther towards the back of the car. Once you get it far enough towards you, just slip the latch over the hook and you're done. Sorry if that is a little wordy.
I tried leaning over the seat while in the back seat area but it killed my back and difficult to get enough leverage on it.
